È in corso in questi giorni la settima edizione del Cvtà Street Fest, che si tiene dal 23 al 26 giugno a Civitacampomarano, un piccolo comune dell’entroterra molisano a circa 30 km dal nostro agriturismo, Essentia dimora rurale. Ne parliamo davvero con piacere perché, oltre ad essere una bellissima manifestazione, è anche un grande esempio di resilienza e, forse, il più famoso manifesto del “Molise che resiste”.
The seventh edition of the Cvtà Street Fest, held from June 23 to 26 in Civitacampomarano, a small town in inland Molise about 30 kilometers from our agritourism, Essentia rural dwelling, is under way these days. We really talk about it with pleasure because, besides being a beautiful event, it is also a great example of resilience and, perhaps, the most famous manifesto of “Molise that resists”.

Si tratta, appunto, di un festival di street art, che ha come direttore artistico l’apprezzata ed affermata artista Alice Pasquini, (street artist, illustratrice e scenografa), durante il quale artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo creano le loro opere d’arte sui muri, sulle porte e tra gli angoli più suggestivi del borgo di Civitacampomarano, rendendolo, (come molti amano dire), un vero “museo a cielo aperto”.
It is, precisely, a street art festival, which has as its artistic director the appreciated and established artist Alice Pasquini, (street artist, illustrator and scenographer), during which artists from all over the world create their works of art on the walls, doors and among the most striking corners of the village of Civitacampomarano, making it, (as many like to say), a true “open-air museum.”

Come ogni anno, tanti gli eventi che fanno da contorno alla manifestazione: musica dal vivo, proiezioni cinematografiche, cucina tipica e tradizionale, passeggiate e visite alla scoperta del territorio e del Castello Angioino.
Like every year, many events surround the event: live music, film screenings, typical and traditional cuisine, walks and visits to discover the area and the Angevin Castle.

Come sempre è grande l’energia che nasce dall’incontro tra gli artisti e le loro opere e Civita ed i suoi abitanti; un’energia che è quasi magia.
Come raccontato nel sito ufficiale della manifestazione, l’idea del festival nasce da un invito a visitare il borgo, fatto nel 2014 dalla Presidente della Pro Loco di Civitacampomarano ad Alice Pasquini. Un invito che ha segnato il via a questo sodalizio artistico ed un ritorno alle origini per Alice (il cui nonno era originario proprio di Civita). Oggi, come il primo anno in cui è iniziata, questa manifestazione (che conta migliaia di presenze a fronte di 400 abitanti), oltre ad incantare per il suo fascino, è la dimostrazione concreta di quanto attraverso intelligenza, lungimiranza, impegno e visione si possano creare attrattività e notorietà per un territorio afflitto da spopolamento ed assenza di risorse. Un grande plauso a tutti gli organizzatori e tutti gli abitanti che sostengono e collaborano per la riuscita dell’evento! Impossibile mancare!
As always, the energy that comes from the encounter between artists and their works and Civita and its inhabitants is great; an energy that is almost magic.
As recounted on the event’s official website, the idea for the festival came from an invitation to visit the village, made in 2014 by the President of the Pro Loco of Civitacampomarano to Alice Pasquini. An invitation that marked the start of this artistic partnership and a return to her roots for Alice (whose grandfather was originally from Civita itself). Today, like the first year when it began, this event (which has thousands of attendees against a population of 400), in addition to enchanting for its charm, is a concrete demonstration of how much through intelligence, foresight, commitment and vision it is possible to create attractiveness and notoriety for an area plagued by depopulation and lack of resources. A big applause to all the organizers and all the inhabitants who support and collaborate for the success of the event! Impossible to miss!
